The Little Athletics Victoria Centre Excellence Awards will celebrate the achievements of its leading Centres and individuals.

The Awards will be bestowed at the annual Gala Awards Dinner.

Centre Membership Award

Awarded to the Centres with the highest average membership growth, retention and re-signing of lapsed members from each Region.

  • Centres will be judged for this award against other Centres of approximately similar scale. Some Regions will be divided into the sub-categories of ‘larger’ Centres and ‘smaller’ Centres (based approximately on the average Centre size).
  • The Centre with the highest average score of all Victorian Centres will be individually recognised and rewarded.

Awarded to the Centre that hosts a State Championship event throughout a season.

Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal Greatest Centre Donation Award

Awarded to the Centre for the most funds raised for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal Greatest Centre Donation Per Capita Award

Awarded to the Centre that has raised the most money on a per-member basis for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

State Championships Award

Are awarded to the best-performing Centres at the Little Athletics Victoria State Championship series each season. First to third placegetters are recognised.

Bryan Neighbour Centre Coach Award

Coaching remains a vibrant part of Little Athletics and the time & effort that our coaches dedicate to the sport should be recognised and rewarded.

The Bryan Neighbour Centre Coach Award hopes to highlight and encourage the special qualities of coaches in junior sport and the immense impact they have on the development of our athletes.

Centre Inclusion Award

The Centre Inclusion AwardrecognisesCentres that have created a program,project or campaign, or implemented a plan which has demonstrably improved the level of inclusion and engagement with children at disadvantage:

  • With disability;
  • From a non-English speaking background;
  • From an indigenous background;
  • From a financially disadvantaged background.

Centre Marketing Award

The Centre Marketing Award recognises centres that have implemented an innovative marketing program, project or campaign, plan or activities that have demonstrably elevated the profile of their Centre within their community, generated new memberships and maximised member retention.

Centre Volunteer of the Year Award

The Centre Volunteer of the Year Award recognises volunteers(this could include administrators, officials, ground announcers, canteen managers, equipment stewards, results recorder etc.) that have given their Centre exemplary service throughout the season.

Coach of the Year Award

Coaching remains a vibrant part of Little Athletics and the time and effort that our coaches dedicate to the sport should be recognised and rewarded.

The Coach of the Year Award hopes to highlight and encourage the special qualities of coaches in junior sport and the immense impact they have on the development of our athletes.

Outstanding Contribution by an Education Sector Individual Award

Little Athletics has benefitted from a close and ongoing relationship with the education sector dating back to our sport’s establishment in 1964. In the ensuing years, many individuals have made enormous contributions across the sport, with Little Athletics benefiting greatly of their educational expertise, networks of contacts, access to facilities, recruitment of members and other factors. Little Athletics Victoriaseeks to celebrate its long, fruitful and informal relationship with the education sector, as well as the contributions to our sport by the individuals concerned by the establishment of a specific award category.

The Outstanding Contribution By An Education Sector Individual award celebrates and recognises outstanding contributions to Victorian Little Athletics–at any level-by an individual working within or on behalf of the Victorian education sector

Official of the Year Award

Awarded to the most outstanding official at Region/State level, as determined by the Association.
