CENTRE EVENTS

Athletes compete in running, throwing and jumping events in a program suited to the age and development of the athlete. The focus of the athletes is to perform at their personal best. Most Centres will offer training nights focussed on skill development.

REGION CARNIVALS

All Regions host these Region Carnival events each season:

Relays
Track and Field
– Cross-Country

Note: Some Regions may conduct a Region Combined Event Carnival.

Athletes may enter Region Carnivals, dependent on the entry qualifications having been met for that particular Carnival. The Region Relays, Track and Field, and Cross-Country Carnivals are the qualifying competition for their respective State Championships event.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Little Athletics Victoria hosts these State Championships events each season:

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Little Athletics Victoria is also involved in the Australian Little Athletics Championships (ALAC).

ALAC is an annual event conducted by Little Athletics Australia that offers able-bodied and Multi-Class competitors an opportunity to represent their state in team or individual competition. The 2024 edition will provide representative opportunities to those in the U13, U14, and U15 age groups.

STAWELL GIFT

Little Athletics Victoria also conducts five handicap events at the Stawell Gift each year.

Providing Little Athletes with the opportunity to run on the official Stawell track on all three days of the Carnival. An excellent opportunity for our athletes to get up close to some of the best professional runners on the circuit.

NEW ZEALAND DEVELOPMENT TOUR

The 2024 New Zealand Development Tour is an exciting opportunity for athletes from Little Athletics Victoria (LAVic) in the Under 14 and Under 15 age groups. Selected athletes will spend 7 days touring with the LAVic team from 3rd – 10th of January 2024 and will compete at the 2024 North Island “Colgate Games” in Auckland.
