Athletes compete in running, throwing and jumping events in a program suited to the age and development of the athlete. The focus of the athletes is to perform at their personal best. Most Centres will offer training nights focussed on skill development.
All Regions host these Region Carnival events each season:
– Track and Field
Note: Some Regions may conduct a Region Combined Event Carnival.
Athletes may enter Region Carnivals, dependent on the entry qualifications having been met for that particular Carnival. The Region Relays, Track and Field, and Cross-Country Carnivals are the qualifying competition for their respective State Championships event.
Little Athletics Victoria also conducts five handicap events at the Stawell Gift each year.
Providing Little Athletes with the opportunity to run on the official Stawell track on all three days of the Carnival. An excellent opportunity for our athletes to get up close to some of the best professional runners on the circuit.
