In an effort to offer better week-to-week support for those delivering our sport, Centres may be visited by one of Little Athletics Victoria’s two Development Officers (DO) in any given season. As casual employees of LAVic, DOs often engage in standard weekly competition and/or training activities, assisting in the identification of growth areas, while also developing strategies to assist. DOs may undertake any number of tasks while visiting, including on-the-spot training for parents, guardians, or other volunteers. They may also, from time-to-time, refer tasks to the LAVic office, particularly in situations where Centres require further advice, advocacy, or support.
Our Development Officers tend to reach out to Centres directly, however if you are in need of support, or would like a visit, please don’t hesitate to contact us! This can be done via the LAVic office email address (office@lavic.com.au) or by contacting one of our DOs directly.
More information about the Development Officers, including their movements for the 2025-26 season can be found below.

Rob Belli
A lifelong participant in Little Athletics, Rob competed at the Croydon Centre in his youth, before returning to the sport with his children at Yarra Ranges. A school teacher by trade, Rob is a fantastic communicator, comfortable liaising with parents and competitors in equal measure. Knowledgeable in multiple disciplines, Rob is particularly adept with a starter’s pistol, and is always happy to teach someone the best way to start a race.

Kelly Costin
Kelly’s involvement in athletics began alongside the first of her four children, joining Geelong Little Athletics Centre. Never one to stand on the sidelines, Kelly became involved in multiple facets of the sport, from timing and venue set up, through to weekly coaching, and official development programs. A versatile educator with experience across LAVic, SSV, and AV programs, Kelly is a wealth of knowledge, only too happy to assist developing coaches and volunteers/officials alike.
