Australia’s richest footrace, the Powercor Stawell Gift, returns to Central Park April 8-10, 2023, over the Easter long weekend with three action-packed days of elite athletic racing, activities and family entertainment. Marking its 141st year of racing, the Powercor Stawell Gift continues to be a prominent event on the Australian sporting calendar.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible to enter a Powercor Little Athletics Victoria event at the 2023 Powercor Stawell Gift, an athlete is required to be a registered and financial competitive member of Little Athletics Victoria for the 2022-2023 season prior to January 30th, 2023 & meet the prescribed race entry criteria.

LAVic aims to provide safe & enjoyable activities for its athletes & families and makes every effort to determine fair handicaps based upon verifiable results.

1 event: $25 + Processing Fee
2 events: $30 + Processing Fee
3 events: $35 + Processing Fee
4 events (*U11 – U17 Only): $40 + Processing Fee

Events

Events, capacity & age groups permitted. Age group is taken as for the 2022-2023 Little Athletics Victoria registration year.

100m Boys (96 spaces): U9 – U17 athletes
100m Girls (96 spaces): U9 – U17 athletes
400m Mixed (150 spaces): U9 -U17 athletes
800m Mixed (105 spaces): U9 – U17 athletes
1600m Mixed (42 spaces): U11 – U17 athletes only

The 400m, 800m & 1600m events will be combined gender events.

Please note: your receipt will not include a summary of event(s) selected. We encourage you to keep a written record of the event(s) entered. Changes to event selections after the closing date Monday 13th March 2023 1:00pm, cannot be made.

Timetable

Saturday 8th April: 800m heats & final
Sunday 9th April: 100m heats, 400m heats
Monday 10th April: 100m semi-final & final, 400m final, 1600m final

Race Entry Criteria Information

To be eligible to enter an LAVic race (ie.100m) at the 2023 Powercor Stawell Gift, an athlete:

• Must be a registered and financial competitive member (athlete) in the U9 – U17 age groups with a Centre affiliated with LAVic prior to January 30th, 2023.
• Must have a recorded performance in the relevant event (1500m is the relevant event for the 1600m event) at one of the below sanctioned competitions:
• Must submit their best performance(s) achieved in the sanctioned competitions as part of the online race entry process.

• Little Athletics Victoria State Combined Events Championships – November 12th/13th 2022
• Little Athletics Victoria Region Track & Field Carnivals – February 18th/19th 2023
• Little Athletics Victoria State Track & Field Championships – March 11th/12th 2023*
• Athletics Victoria Shield League (AVSL) 2022-2023 season
• Athletics Victoria – High Velocity Club 2022-2023 season
• Victorian Milers Club 2022-2023 season
• Athletics Victoria – State Combined Events Championships January 14th/15th 2023
• Athletics Victoria – Country Track & Feld Championships 2023 – January 26th – 28th, 2023
• Athletics Victoria State Track & Field Championships 2023 – February 24 – 26th 2023
• School Sports Victoria 2022 State Championships (Primary or Secondary)

*If your entry is submitted prior to the LAVic State Track & Field Championships, performances will be updated on your behalf in preparation for handicaps to be finalised. You will not be required to contact us to advise of an update.

Special Consideration for race entry may be given for performances in events not in the list above, at the discretion of LAVic. Please email brett.johnstone@lavic.com.au for verification prior to entering.

• Parents/Guardians are advised not to book / pay for accommodation, until approval is received.
• Any cost incurred due to an athlete being withdrawn, is at the parents expense.

Please note: If you do not meet the above criteria your entry will be withdrawn for that event. Entries are pending, until performances are verified.

Ticketing

• Athletes will receive a pass as a condition of race entry; parents will have to purchase tickets.
• All additional tickets must be purchased via Ticketek.
