ITLAS – Introduction to Teaching Little Athletics Skills

If you’re just getting started on your coaching journey or are looking to help at your local Centre, the Introduction to Teaching Little Athletics Skills Course (ITLAS) could be a great place to start. 

A non-accredited, practical program designed for Little Athletics and conducted on behalf of Little Athletics Australia, ITLAS is held as a face-to-face training day for participants wanting to help at their local Centre. 

Cost: The cost of ITLAS is $70 + GameDay Fee 

Program Inclusions: 

  • ITLAS Participant’s Pack – Interactive PDF, 
  • Coaching Manuals – Interactive PDF,  
  • Centre Officiating handbook,  
  • Certificate of completion (Emailed following successful completion of program), and 
  • Other, additional handouts. 

Participants will attend a face-to-face training day where they will be shown skills, drills, and activities relevant to the target age group. 

BYO Lunch 

Duration:9.00am – 3.30pm (Unless otherwise stated) 

The minimum age is 16 at the time of delivery. 

Education courses for season 2024/25 will be announced early August. 

Subsequent Accreditation Opportunities:

Commencing in 2024, graduates of the ITLAS program will see their successful completion credited toward a nationally recognised Level 1 Youth Coach Accreditation.

Participants who choose to engage can register to complete a series of Little Athletics Victoria approved online education modules. Those wishing to engage in this program will need to register and pay through Athletics Victoria, via a link to be provided soon. 

Successful completion of the program will see participants granted an Athletics Australia Level 1 Youth Coach Accreditation plus one year of national membership. 

After completion the Level 1 accreditation, coaches may choose complete advanced coach education programs, offered by Athletics Victoria.
