Age Groups: U9 – U17 Athletes

Please Note: Dogs (with the exception of Service Dogs with appropriate paperwork) are NOT permitted within the venue. Dogs are not permitted at any Little Athletics Victoria event, please ensure you remind your parents, as they will be asked to leave if they arrive with a dog.

Entry Requirements

Athletes MUST qualify through competing and completing their 2026 Region Cross-Country Carnival event HERE. No direct entries are permitted.

Protests

There is no Jury of Appeal. The Referee’s decision is final.

Distances

The distance for each age group is listed below.

U9, U10 – 1.5 km

U11, U12 – 2.0 km

U13, U14, U15, U16, U17 – 3.0 km

Note: These are the optimal distances and may vary depending on the location and layout of the course.

Timetable

The draft timetable will be released shortly. The final timetable will be sent to all athletes as part of the Athlete Information document in the week of the event.

Athlete Scratching / Withdrawal

All athletes that compete and complete their Region Cross-County Carnival will automatically be entered into the State Cross-Country Championships.

A scratching portal will open on Sunday 19th July at 4pm and the portal will close on 11am – Thursday 6th August. This portal is applicable to ‘progressed’ athletes from the 2026 Region Cross-Country Carnival who wish to be scratched (removed) from competing in the 2026 State Cross-Country Championships

Anyone wishing to scratch/withdraw from the event after 11am – Thursday 6th August need to advise your Centre or Team Manager.

Event Shirt

Athletes will have the opportunity to purchase a 2026 State Cross-Country Championships commemorative shirt to mark the occasion. Shirts will be available to purchase via the LAVic Shop after the completion of the 2026 Region Cross-Country Carnivals.
