2026 State Cross-Country Championships
The State Cross-Country Championships is an individual Cross-Country event. It is held on terrain that is undulating and provides a challenge to the athletes. The course may incorporate one or two laps depending on the distance and layout of the course.
Date: Saturday, 15th August 2026
Location: Lake Dewar Lodge, 339 Garrands Road, Myrniong (Google Maps)
Age Groups: U9 – U17 Athletes
Please Note: Dogs (with the exception of Service Dogs with appropriate paperwork) are NOT permitted within the venue. Dogs are not permitted at any Little Athletics Victoria event, please ensure you remind your parents, as they will be asked to leave if they arrive with a dog.
Entry Requirements
Athletes MUST qualify through competing and completing their 2026 Region Cross-Country Carnival event HERE. No direct entries are permitted.
Final Timetable
The final timetable has been released above. Please note: The event order has changed from last season. Changes have been made primarily to assist with a better flow of events throughout the day with 3km and 1.5km events alternating rather than being grouped together.
The final timetable will also be sent to all athletes as part of the Athlete Information document in the week of the event.
Distances
The distance for each age group is listed below.
U9, U10 – 1.5 km
U11, U12 – 2.0 km
U13, U14, U15, U16, U17 – 3.0 km
Note: These are the optimal distances and may vary depending on the location and layout of the course.
Protests
There is no Jury of Appeal. The Referee’s decision is final.
Athlete Scratching / Withdrawal
All athletes that compete and complete their Region Cross-County Carnival will automatically be entered into the State Cross-Country Championships.
The scratching portal is now closed. Anyone else wishing to scratch/withdraw from the event will now need to advise your Centre or Team Manager.
